Chapter 197: Mutual
Heaven’s light washed over Taweel and Tamaes, lending strength to weary wings. They climbed to dazzling heights, a shout on their lips, a song in their hearts. And God welcomed them by name.
Tamaes asked, “Can we hurry?”
“Do you know the way?” Taweel checked, for they were still some distance from their own district.
With a short laugh, his apprentice arrowed away, making for a distant spark of color.
Catching up to his apprentice, Taweel squinted at the oncoming blaze. A swift, solitary angel. “No one flies this high except Messengers and ….”
“ … and those who rejoice!”
