Jose Rizal was a thoughtful friend. From Calamba, in 1887, he sent Ferdinand Blumentritt, a heavy smoker, six cigarettes; kamuning, cinnamon, and sampaguita flowers; and his home-made wood lighter. Rizal's cover letter contains pictures and instructions on how to use it. (Please share).
