Weekly Notes, August 11, 2014

Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V: ​  

We are putting the final touches on My Beloved Werewolf and should have it out the door and to the editor within the next day or so.  We then plan to take a day to rest, (been burning the candle at both ends here recently!) and then move immediately over to the next three books that are scheduled to come out between now and the end of the year.  Alice will be working on Up in Smoke, Texas Vampire Rangers 2 and the Christmas Anthology story, and Lady V will be starting the fourth book of Dragons of Dragonose!

Although the fourth book in Dragonose is still unnamed, we can promise you it is going to be a fantastic book and can hardly wait to sink our teeth into it.  

We will have information to give you regarding the release party for Ivormantis, Dragons of Dragonose 3 on next week's blog.  We will also try to remember to post it on the front page of the website.  Hope everyone can join us.  Since we will be camping on release day, we are thinking of holding it in the late afternoon and early evening.

Hello, my name is Ivormantis.  It’s so nice to meet you.  I’m new here to Earth, having just arrived a few days ago for the upcoming release of my own book!  Meanwhile, I’ve been spending my time trying to keep Fadri and Sapphamire as far apart from each other as I can.  Sapphamire loves to aggravate Fadri and see how far he can push him.  Needless to say the two dragons go at it at least once a week and leave huge craters in the earth wherever they end up.   In my free time, I’ve also been learning a lot about Facebook, and I never dreamed I would meet the amount of beautiful women since joining this cyber rave!  More of my fellow dragons should come here in search of their mates!  If you haven’t already, you really should come over and check out our new page that our creators did up for us.  We get to tell riddles and have a lot of fun!  Check it out:

We are sitting down with Lori King today to find out what makes her tick, how she puts out such wonderful books, and learn a bit about her latest!

Lori, thank you so much of joining us today.  Can you tell us how long have you been writing?

I’ve been writing fiction pretty much since I could hold a pencil, and before that I was creating worlds in my head and imaginary friends no one else could see. I’ve always had a hundred different stories playing like a movie reel in my brain. It wasn’t until high-school that I really focused my writing and began honing my skill, and even then it took me until 2012 to submit a book to a publisher.

What drove you to writing?

I’m not sure I could pick something specific. I’ve always been a storyteller; it’s something that comes naturally. Putting the words on paper in a way that made sense took work, but once I start a story I NEED to finish it.

What do you feel the most comfortable writing?  (Shifter, Mystery, Cowboy, etc.)

I love writing paranormal because I get to push the boundaries of reality, but I think western stories is where my heart is. I grew up in Kansas surrounded by farming communities and cattle ranches, so country boys have always held my heart.

Who’s your favorite author?

Bertrice Small, Lexi Blake, Jayne Rylon, Stephanie Laurens, Ted Bell, Stephen King, Robin Cooke….this is a list that would go on for days if I listed all of them! 

What are the best times for you to write?

Until recently the answer to that question was late at night, because I had my four year old at home with me during the daytime hours. It’s not easy to stay focused on an erotic scene when he’s driving a hot wheel across the screen of my laptop. But he’s growing up and going to preschool, so now I would say the morning is my most productive time; while I’m fresh and focused.

When you are not writing, what do you enjoy doing?

I love to binge watch television shows on Netflix with my oldest son, and I spend a lot of time at the high-school track with my middle son. My youngest and I read together, so I know more children’s book authors than adult authors lately. LOL Reading is a necessary part of my day or I can’t relax to sleep.

Okay, and we hear you have a new book that has just recently been released.  Can you tell us about it?

He knew the moment it dawned on her that the only open seat was the matching chair on his right. Her entire body tensed, and her cheeks flushed as just the tip of her pink tongue darted out to lick her lips. He waited while she reviewed her options, and then stiffened her spine like a battle weary soldier heading into the last skirmish of the day. Her lush hips swayed as she moved in his direction, and she gave him a wary smile.
“Is this seat taken?”
Her voice was slightly husky, and it went straight through him to his cock. Shoving himself to his feet, he towered over the petite woman, and grinned when she shivered in his shadow.
The petite beauty smelled like some sort of candy from his mother’s chocolate shop, and Lex’s mouth was watering to take a bite. He could see that her hair was thicker and more vibrant than he had imagined now that she was closer, and her skin was as pale and flawless as the china doll that sat atop his daughter’s dresser. Relief coursed through him that he hadn’t already offended her. He was rapidly coming to the conclusion that he needed to spend the night with her sexy body wrapped around his, and it wouldn’t do to fuck it up now.
“No, it’s free, and I’d love to have you join me. I’m Alexander Gregory, but please call me Lex.” He offered his hand so that he would have the opportunity to touch her satiny skin, and he wasn’t disappointed. It was like stroking the skin of a newborn, so sweetly untouched that he had to force himself to remove his hand from hers.
“I’m Marley Saltzman.”
 Her eyes darted up to his, and then dropped back down to the bottle of water in her hands. She was twisting it so hard that the wrapper was tearing off. Unable to resist, Lex reached out and covered her grip on the bottle, giving her a gentle squeeze. “Is this your first event?”
Marley nodded, and allowed him to take her hand and draw her down to the seat at his side. For just a moment, he could only stare at her profile as her eyes darted around the room. Her nervousness was obvious, but she held her spine rigid. She had the bearing of royalty, but underneath, behind the smile in her eyes, he could see her fear and discomfort. He couldn’t even vaguely remember what it was like to be a newbie to this world, but he sympathized with her in ways he shouldn’t at this point.
“It’s all right, princess. In a place with this much kink there’s no need to force the unwilling. No one will touch you without your consent. Relax, and tell me what brought you here.” As he spoke, he reached his hand out and brushed a dark brown curl away from her cheek.

A Message from the Paws:  Shadow


Guess what?  I am packing for another camping trip!  Yep, that's right!  Next week when you hear from me I'll be back down at the beach, finding children to love on me, tromping through the water, and eating lots of grilled out meat!  I sure do love to go camping!

I have also been hearing the humans talking about a "Anniversary Party" for Alice.  I'm not sure what all that entails, but  I sure hope I am invited since I overheard them discussing the "menu" for this party!  Mmmm, are they planning on some good food!  They keep saying it is the beginning of next month, Sept 3rd.  So, I'll be sure to keep everyone posted as I find out more about it!
