It’s sunday once again, and that means it’s time for another Weekend Writing Warriors post – the blog hop where writers share 8 lines from something they’ve written. As you know, the last four weeks I’ve been working my way through each book of the Jagged Ivory series, in celebration of the release of the boxed set, The Essential Jagged Ivory. Well, this week’s 8 comes from the 5th and final installment, Jagged Surrender

In this scene our hero, Jagged Ivory front man, Otis Ivory, is coming to terms with his questionable behavior with and shitty treatment of women. A real breakthrough for a man accused of statutory rape after an underage sex tape scandal…

“I probably coerced her. Even though the Cleveland District Attorney apparently thinks otherwise, I’m not so sure anymore. I mean, think about it … I coerced you into a date ten minutes after we met. I didn’t think twice about it. I thought nothing about wielding my influence and my fame to get what I wanted. I used it to my advantage. That’s what I do. That’s how I deal with women!”
