Game of Thrones goes to Spain

Next season on Game of Thrones we will be visiting the exotic realm of Dorne, which does sound like it might be a more appealing place to live than some of the other sites we’ve seen in the first three seasons. So here is a preview of Dorne---AKA Spain. I’d definitely prefer it to the Wall.

Iset Have you seen the official Game of Thrones YouTube video where all the new actors said hello? I'm rather excited - quite a few familiar faces in there, as well as some new faces too.

Siddig and Castle-Hughes surprised me. Great to see them on board, but I always imagined Doran Martell as rather overweight, and Obara as much older than Keisha is.

Thank you for sharing the link, Isis. I haven't read all the books, so the character names aren't familiar, but they certainly sound intriguing. I'm still waiting to see season 4… I don't understand why HBO can't sell the DVDs/video streaming now rather than wait. I just saw a post that the first episode of Outlander, which STARZ streamed for free to entice us, had 1 million views. Sure seems like they could make more money selling it as a pay-per-view. Wish STARZ & HBO would get with it! Not all of us want to pay for cable, but for some shows, I'd do a pay-per-view! (Okay…will stop ranting now.)

Iset I've only just started A Feast for Crows myself and read the first handful of chapters - enough to know who most of those characters are, though not all.

Season 4 is good, though I would say not as good as the first three seasons. They shifted some events so things that happened at the beginning of Book 3 Part 2 made it into the finale of Season 3 - therefore Season 4 had less than a whole book as its source material, and well, I did feel at times that certain scenes were padding or filler. Also I was slightly disappointed in the final two episodes of the season - they weren't as "big" as previous seasons, I felt the lack of budget spent in those two episodes was noticeable, compared to in previous seasons where the creators have always really pushed the boat out for episodes 9 and 10. Still, nevertheless, Season 4 is another good season.

Christine I actually am a fan of the actor playing Doran, he is pretty much the opposite of how I imagined him to look. I was also surprised that it appeared they are completely cutting out Quentyn Martell.

(also, for what it's worth, I loved every moment of A Feast for Crows but hated Dance with Dragons.)

Iset Oh yes, I've seen Siddig in a lot of things, from Star Trek to Kingdom of Heaven (sorry, Sharon! Would that I did not have to mention that film's name). But I did imagine Doran to be overweight, since he's enforced not to take much exercise due to his mobility issues.

Christine Yup, I saw him as overweight and a bit more aged looking too.
