This is admittedly random but have you seen the Virgin suicies? Why do you think trip abandoned lux in the football field? I can't understand it and you seem to have good ideas about stuff like that.

It’s not random! I actually just reblogged a gif of Lux in the field after he left on my side blog! I’ve come up with so many reasons to why he left her but the only one I can really put together and think of is that he was afraid. Afraid that she would be attached to him and that he would fall even more in love with her and that he wouldn’t be the same cool jock in high school and would have to dedicate himself to someone younger than him. Ridiculous, I know. But I’ve tried jumping into the mind of a 17/18 year old boy who is a senior in high school who just became popular / good looking and that’s what I came up with. Mostly seeing those type of boys in my high school, that’s what I connected Trip’s personality with. But all in all, I do not think in anyway that he meant to hurt her in that extreme sense. I mean you can even see that when he is talking to one of the boys during the years after interview he was in a rehabilitation center and obviously her death had to have some traumatic impact on his life/future. He knew and even said that he loved her and would never love someone like that ever again, but to think like someone of that age, I highly doubt he knew she was going to be sheltered and not long after that she was going to take her life. I think that’s what messed him up the most because after that night that he spent with her, persuading her to leave the dance and go out to the field, he never saw Lux or her sisters ever again.
