As a low vision author, audio books were always in the back of my mind, perhaps more so than the large print editions offered  in the Peers of Beinan Series.  Large print and audio editions offer different value points to readers and authors, cost to consumer being an important consideration.



For both large print and audio editions, the book length largely dictates the price charged for the title.  For example, The Ghosts of the Past is 400 pages in regular paperback, but jumps to 576 pages in 18 point large print font.  That surges the price from $15 to $25 — just by adding 176 pages.





With audio editions, the finished length largely decides the price the book is offered at.  The guidelines on ACX, Amazon’s audio book publishing platform offer the following general pricing guidelines:
