Yesterday was the release of Opposition, the fifth and FINNNNAAAAAL book in the Lux Series. Finnnnnnnnaaaal. That makes me all

I’m happy, because ya’ll finally get to read it, and I’m sad because it’s time to let Daemon and Kat go, and I guess it’s sort of like watching your kids go off to college.

I wanted to thank all of you — ALL OF YOU — for coming along on this Lux – a – licious journey.  I never thought Daemon and Kat would wiggle their way into your hearts, especially considering the dude is an alien, and well, that’s kind of weird, you know, the whole intergalactic, cross species romance…

But ya’ll are the best readers any author could ever ask for, and I hope Daemon and Kat (and me) have done you proud. You guys deserve it.

Starting a new series is always exciting, like it was with Obsidian. An author never knows how a reader is going to feel about it. So I was kind of like this in the beginning. Will they like it? I mean, dude is an alien and he’s kind of a douche canoe. And did I say, he’s an alien. A total freaking alien made out of light, like a glow worm?

But then people were like: Daemon Black is hot. And I was all like

DO YOU SEE THAT PEOPLE THINK HE’S HOT AND THEY LIKE HIM? And I was also like this

But enough about Daemon. Because the story is and always has been about Katy, and her journey and all that good stuff. Nothing makes me happier to hear that readers relate to her or they’ve started blogging because of her. And honestly, I can only thank all the AMAZING BLOGGERS I used as a source of inspiration for Katy and her book loving shenanigans. You know, book bloggers…

Seriously. This series wouldn’t be what it is today without your support.

Ending a series is terrifying. It was when I wrote Sentinel and it was published, it was when I finished Tempting the Bodyguard, and it will be for every one of my series. On release date, you’re kind of like

Ha. Just kidding. It is scary. But it’s also so much fun.

I also wanted to thank Blue Willow bookstore in Houston and BookPeople in Austin for hosting amazing signings in support of Opposition. You guys rock. Especially the staff at BookPeople for creating some of the most awesome event related stuff– kitten ears,

AND CUPCAKES, a LIFE SIZE CUT OUT OF DAEMON BLACK, to just name a few. Seriously, THANK YOU

And thank you for not kicking Cora Carmack, her sister Jen, Katie from Mundie Moms, and Vilma for Vilma’s Book Blog out of the bookstore for molesting the cut out of Daemon Black, and kind of breaking him, and were pretty much like this:

The good thing about books though is that they’re never really over. They are always there for you to re-read at any time. Their stories never truly end. Ever. So you’re not really saying goodbye to them. You’re saying I’ll see you again soon to them.
