Sergeant Corbin ‘Syn’ Sydney had dedicated his life to becoming the best damn cop there was. So when he heard there was an opening on the Atlanta Narcotics Task Force, he jumped at the chance. But, what he wasn’t ready for was realizing just how lonely he’d made himself, when he observed the loving and dedicated relationship between the two men he served under: Lieutenant Cashel Godfrey and Lieutenant Leonidis Day.
Syn prepared himself to accept his lonely fate until he walked into a small pub and met the long-haired, tattooed bartender, Furious Barkley. Before Syn can even understand why, he’s overcome with feelings he barely recognizes: passion, yearning, craving. And if the dark, lustful gazes are anything to go by, Furious might be feeling the same things for him.
Just two thing needs to happen before Syn and Furi can give each other what’s been missing from their lives for so long… Syn needs to find the evidence that proves Furi’s innocence to get him off the suspect list, as well as protect him from a past that refuses to let go.

I started reading this book late and figured I’d read the first couple chapters and hit the sack. Well it was a good thing I stared it on my days off because I was up until 3am before I had to close the book. From the first chapter this story will pull you in with some great action and amazing characters. The following chapters just get better *wink* The story will keep you on the edge of your seat while the characters will warm and break your heart at the same time then have you laughing. This is also an m/m romance and A. E Via has done right by not only her characters but her readers as well. *fans self* You don’t want to miss out on this story. You may even want to pick up the first book of this series “Nothing Special” and get a little more familiar with some of the secondary characters.
A. E. Via has given us some of the biggest bad ass Detectives written, 100% sexy, alpha and as smart ass as they come. The comradely of the team on and off the job is priceless. Some of these characters you may have also met in her other books. I love it when an author writes their stories as a series but they can also be read as a stand-alone. There is something very pleasing about being able to keep tabs on the characters you have come to love. I do hope we get to see more of our new loves Syn and Furi in future stories.
