Catalyst for Writing My Book
Hellllooooo Visitor!
Thought I'd like to share the catalyst for writing my book, "Your Positive Potential: Action Steps for Self-Empowerment.
True Life Experience: As I turned the key to start my truck and head out of the parking lot on my last day at work in February 2009, I drove away and strongly vocalized the following words: I am now self-employed, because where there’s a will there’s a way. I have the will I’ll find the way!
On that very day I quit my job I made a decision to become self-employed because it held me accountable and empowered me to pursue my goal of building my own freelance writing and interpreting business. Not an easy choice, mind you, no benefits, no overtime, no insurance or medical, etc.
Life changes seriously hurt whether they derive from quitting a job, going through a divorce, experiencing the death of a loved one, imposed job cutbacks, physical/emotional injury, car crash, plane crash, paralysis, stroke, or even uprooting the family. The decisions we make on a daily basis affect who we are TODAY!
However… it’s amazing how our gears 'can' kick into survival mode when the rubber meets the road. I was in a similar loss of a job back in the mid 1970s. This time it’s different because I have more job skills than I had 30 years ago. I now also have a solid support group and network with greater societal benefits. My internal resource antennae has become MORE refined with age!
In my book Your Positive Potential: Action Steps for Self-Empowerment I share wisdom I’ve picked up through the years that I’m using now to help keep me from getting into that stinking thinking mess that got me in trouble years ago.
Bottom line: Hang in there and pursue your goals!

Your Positive Potential
Inherent within each one of us is the seed for positive potential to make a contribution that benefits society.
Unfortunately some challenges in life hinder us from achieving our positive potential.
