In the Tudor and Stuart period that is my speciality as a writer and historian, there was horrific religious persecution. We should all stand up against it in the world today. We know how in Nazi Germany Jews had to wear a yellow star. In Mosul Christian homes today are marked with this symbol standing for ‘Nazarene’, so they can be targeted for persecution. Let’s adopt it!

Christians are now the more persecuted religion on earth - the biggest funders of that persecution are Saudis, our allies. We should over throw the House of Saud and replace it with that of Jordan.

That's just terrible. I'm not religious (I had a lot of serious issues with my community and worse in my family that made me turn away from it permanently) but I don't condone this kind of massacre against any religious group. You would think we are back in the middle ages. I hope something is done.
I agree. Its a case of first they come for x then y then u. According to the Times today they have now ordered FGM for all women in Mosul area...quite insane. We will not face up to role of Saudi Arabia in this. After 9/11 we attack secular Iraq and keep Saudi Arabia as an ally - and how many Saudis flew into the twin towers?
