Connections in "The Legacy"

My latest novel "The Legacy" is basically a kidnapping story told against the backdrop of the 2016 Olympic Games being held in Brazil. However, there are numerous local and family connections.

Eric, one of the main characters in the book, is a graduate of the Financial Planning program at Fanshawe College in London Ontario. In real life, my oldest son is a graduate of Fanshawe who now works for RBC as an Investment & Retirement Planner.

Chip, the other son in the novel, bears a striking resemblance to my other son in real life. For those of you who read my first novel "Goliath", you'll remember that the main character in that book was based on him.

And once again, the "Dad" in this book is a widower. My wife still doesn't want me basing a character on her. However, in this book, his dead wife haunts him in his dreams. My wife likes that part of the story a lot!!!

And there are numerous references to family and friends in Saskatchewan. In real life, our family had a lot of good times out at Emma Lake in Saskatchewan.

I hope you enjoy reading "The Legacy".
