Azuma Makoto, a 38-year-old artist based in Tokyo, launched two botanical arrangements into space: "Shiki 1," a Japanese white pine bonsai tree suspended from a metal frame, and an untitled arrangement of orchids, lilies, hydrangeas, and irises.
