Tamaes threw an arm over his eyes while Taweel wrapped his wound, but Omri pushed and pried. With a sigh, he came out of hiding. The little angel peeped and petted the crease between his eyebrows.
“You are too quiet. He is worried,” said Taweel.
“I would rather hear your thoughts.”
His mentor grunted. “You expected too much from your enemy. A friend might yield in a fair fight, but an enemy will drag you down with him.”
“Truly.”
Taweel took his hand. “Your training changes shape from here. I need two things from you.”
“What?”
“Your trust. And courage.”
