The Breath of Aoles edited
In May 16, I received a review for The Breath of Aoles, first book of the Ardalia fantasy trilogy on Goodreads and Amazon.com. Though the reader who wrote the review enjoyed the book, giving it a five stars on Amazon, she signaled several errors of grammar and typos. I immediately decided to have the book professionally edited, and this time, I gave the job to Ingrid Hall. At the end of June, the editing was finished. Ingrid did a very good job, not only fixing errors but also improving the sentence structure. I will definitely work with her again.
Now my book Ardalia: The Breath of Aoles has gathered ten reviews on Amazon.com. The most recent review, from July 3 is this one by Sabrina:
I love this book and cannot wait to read book 2. The style of writing pulled me in and made me fall in love with the characters. I found myself being frightened and cheering on the main character Pelmen. I felt the love and lose that he felt. I loved learning the way he thinks and reacts to everything that is going on threw out the book. Getting an inside look at him developing from a tanner boy to warrior and becoming so in tuned to his abilities with the animals is amazing!
This writer as the amazing talent of being able to pull you in and making you feel a part of his story! I will be anxiously watching for more to come.
Of course, we as writers are taught to ignore reviews, but this one helped me to feel better, especially since, I won't deny it, for the moment the book has been selling very poorly. So, I'm working on the sequel, Turquoise Water, with a lot of heart, and I'm very grateful for the reviews.
On the promotional side, there will be a new Giveaway on Goodreads with the edited version in September. I feel that I owe this to my Goodreads reader, the new version being much better than the previous one. It was a nice surprise to see such a welcome for my fantasy book on Goodreads, with more than 600 people participating in the giveaway.
I love people who love to read, so thank you.
