Update

So! After speaking with several professionals, I believe it's time for an update. Parts of Pivot are going to be rewritten. Things will be altered and added, and I happily agreed with all of the recommendations that were given to me. This will take time. This will require a lot of effort. But it will be worth it. And in the end, a more polished Pivot will bloom.

That is not to say that there is anything wrong with this first version (although, you're also welcome to say there is plenty wrong with this first version), but there are multiple ways to write or present a book, and I am very much looking forward to creating a new and improved version. To smooth the edges. Allow myself to file and chip like a rock tumbler while I ruminate inside Pivot's beautifully dark universe.

Wish me the best of luck, and keep me in your thoughts. This will be a long journey requiring much coffee and many sublime realizations. Again, though, so incredibly worth it.

Christie I loved it just the way it was, but I look forward to reading the new and improved version too.

L.C. Thank you, Christi. That's really awesome to hear. You have always been so supportive!

I suppose what it comes down to is trying to enable Pivot to enter the professional arena as much as possible, and that requires revisions. And all books, everywhere, require such revisions.

Shandra I felt like it was amazing the first time through, so I'm super stoked to read it after you revise it!!!! I'm ready for the sequel already!!!!

Athena Shardbearer I really really loved your book, and I think it is perfect! But, I will re-read this one again! Good luck!

L.C. Thank you, Shandra, and thank you, Athena!

Revisions will be going on for a while, but it appears as though a few pieces of Book 2 will be moved to Book 1. So, in a way, you will get a piece of the sequel in the revised first book.

Needless to say, I am interested to see the end result.

L.C. Thank you!

As for the new version, I wish I could say! The alterations to Pivot have given me new ideas and insights into Book 2, which is wonderful. With Book 1 changing so often, however, there isn't firm footing for Book 2 right now. Sorry for the wait, guys!

This is a wonderful adventure, though.

Rose I just purchased the Kindle version of your book but I haven't started reading it yet. The great thing with Kindle is that it updates books to the latest version. That said, I think I should wait to read it after your adjustments have been made. Do you have some idea of when that may be?

L.C. Rose,

That is a really, really good question. So, what I will say first is that, most likely, if these revisions go as they should, and everything works out, there will be a separate Pivot published, so an update will not occur with the one you already have.

The people I am working with approximated multiple revisions of the work (and by "multiple" I mean many). It is extremely difficult for me to gauge the amount of time it will take because this is the very first book I have worked with/revised. It's still new to me. But I will be adding updates on my blog each time I cross a major hurdle.

I think that if you read Pivot as it is right now, you will notice areas that need polishing. Maybe some areas that need a lot of polishing. Some people aren't bothered by the rough edges, while others are. I understand all reactions to the book - well... many reactions. Pivot is shocking, horrific, and beautiful, but - as said before - rough. It was never copy-edited, and I placed it on Amazon as soon as I finished it (with very few revisions). It is, of course, completely up to you if you want to read this first version of Pivot... but I'll add that many have said they enjoy it, despite its flaws. And many have said they have been horrified by it, despite its flaws.

Victoriya Rath Hello,
English is my second language and I never thought I would find a book written in English that is going to sweep me off my feet. Your Pivot did just that. I fell in love with it from the first page. There was only one book in my life time that I read more than once, it was "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. I already read yours twice this week and each time I found something different that I missed the first time. I cannot wait to read revision and book two. I just wished I did not have to wait.

L.C. Victoriya,

This means so much to me. I'll probably print your message off and put it on my wall. Thank you for letting me know how much you loved Pivot. And English is not your first language! That is even more fantastic. I must say, you write beautifully.

Believe me, I wish I didn't have to wait for the revision or second book, either.

I looked up The Master and Margarita. I had never heard of it before. I told some of my friends about it, and I'll order it and read it. It looks extremely interesting.

Thank you so much for your message.
