You’re not going to like the answer.

Very few authors rake in ginormous royalty checks, so unless you’re Stephen King or J.K. Rowling, don’t expect to make it rich on your book royalties.

My author friend nick recently told me, “I can just about afford lunch from the dollar menu at McDonalds with my royalty check this month.” He was astonished that I had paid a whole major bill with mine.

OK, sure, there are a lot of conversations we could have about book marketing, but that’s like putting a bandit over a broken arm.
