One Word to Rule Them All
One Word to Start Them All.
Okay non existers, today I will once again be readdressing the topic of how to start your writing for the day. It's always hard at first, your brain starts running ahead with all the scenes and things you want to do, but you have no idea how to pick up from where you left off. Well, how's about you start with the first word? Just one. Pretty easy huh? I did it here, that's why I'm writing here, can you say WARMUP!? So yeah, all it takes is one word, the singular beginning word and the rest will come. In fact, it's nearly impossible to write just one word in your novel and not have the following lines come to you. Unless you were/are writing a single word line. That's rare, more often than not, its the beginning of a sentence, if you start it, the rest will come and finish it. After that, guess what? You'll probably have the next few sentences, rinse, repeat and then you'll have the next few paragraphs. Keep that up and *gasp* a page, then two and then more!!!! ZOMGS!!!!
I mean look at this, I had no idea where to start today, I opened word and just stared. Then I remembered I have a blog where I just blargh about nothing to no one and it helps. Lo and behold, tis helping. I've already churned out nearly two paragraphs, *self applause* awesome right? I think so, you of course agree because you're in my head. My head always agrees with me, except when it's food time, then the epic war between healthy and yummy wages and leaves me torn in two! Anyways, my point being, writing is like a set of dominoes, you have to knock over the first to get the reaction you want. Your story is the full set of them little blocks, occasionally you will have breaks, the momentum and story stop. So what, you take you finger, give a little flick and send them all cascading down once again. Poof!!!! Not so hard right?
So yeah, use that noggin' and them fingers to whittle out that first God forsaken word, that's it. That's why I do this if it hasn't sunk into your heads, the very act of writing begets more writing. If you're compelled to write as I am, once you start, you just can't stop. But to get to that point, you have to once again, START. Get it yet? Yes, no, maybe so.
Here, lemme show you.
Ahem, first word typed, it was ahem. Omg, i just cleared my throat in text format. Now im rambling and disregard all manner of writing rules but im writing! fun writing, sloppy messy oh so enjoyable writing like being a kid!!!! oh so funnnsss!!! but thats what writing is supposed to be the funs! if youre doing it for the monies, wrong reason, fail. so be sloppy have fun and get it done. the cleaning up is for the evil editing *hisses* see though, right here oh so quick, ive written near about a page of blatherings, if thats a warm up, what will i be able to do once i get to my novel !!! omg potential!!!
