Ask the Author

I've enabled the "Ask the Author" feature on my Goodreads author page. Have you read "The Starling God" and want to ask me something about a particular part of it? Curious about writing process? Have other questions? Ask away!

Deborah Blair What is your favorite time of day to write? Do you have a writing schedule? How do you maintain focus with distractions like phones, e-mail, friends dropping by? Where and how do you get your story ideas?

message 2: by Tanya (new)

Tanya Sousa Hi Deborah! I can answer those questions here, but if you'd like you can pose them in the "ask the author" section so they're part of the other queries too. :-) If you'd rather not, that's okay! Just reply that you'd rather not and I'll answer as part of this blog thread. Not a problem! xoxo

Pamela K Hi Tanya,
A colleague of mine was vacationing and saw you at an event not long ago. She bought your book Can Dogs Read? Starting and Implementing a Literacy Program. In fact you signed her book. I am trying to start such a program at the school where we teach. I have done lots of reading and observing of working programs and we are taking our certified teams in for summer school students - starting on a limited basis. She has loaned me her copy to read, but I would like one of my own. It provides support for such programs and answers many of the questions that have been posed to me in my quest. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find your book. Do you have copies that you mail out to interested readers? If so, let me know how to go about getting a copy.
Thanks so much,
Pamela K

Hi Pamela! It's available at www.radianthen.com under "titles". :-) I'm surprised a Google of the title didn't call that site up! So sorry. Let me know if you have any trouble with ordering, because I do have a small stash of my own copies. Good luck starting a program. I certainly hope the book helps.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I will check that site. I was trying Cairn Terrier Publishing without success. The book will definitely help support my cause. Hopefully, others will see the value of such a program as well. Thanks again, Pam

Ah yes! Cairn Terrier is no longer, and Radiant Hen is now carrying the book. It all makes so much sense now! Have a great day, Pam. :-)

Pamela K Hi Tanya,

When I go to Radiant Hen, I then get sent to Brigantine Media. I get a little nervous being sent from site to site. Do you know anything about that site? Would you be willing to send copies to me? If so, do you have an email address that I could send my mailing information to you? Let me know.
Thanks,
Pam

Tanya Sousa Hi Pam - Brigantine Media is Radiant Hen's distributer, so that's why you're forwarded on. However, if you want me to send you copies of Can Dogs Read, you may contact me at tanyasousa@yahoo.com. :-) Thanks!

I'm not sure if you'll see the other comment I made - I forgot to click on "reply"! lol. Just in case you don't see it, this is what I said:

Where is the "ask the author?" - LOL! It is probably in front of my nose and - - -well - - -

message 13: by Tanya (new)

Tanya Sousa Oh! You need to go to my main page. There's a link for it there. You might have to scroll down - at least that's how I see it when I look at my own page. :-)

Deborah Blair Tanya - - this is weird - - but for my computer this IS the ask the author page --which is why I asked her - I am going to try to send it to you for you to see it - - -

Tanya Sousa Hi!
This is my blog, and I made the title of this particular post "Ask the Author" because in it, I announce the fact that I enabled that feature on my page. I'm so sorry if this caused any confusion, Deborah! :-(
