Chapter 167: Like a Flockmate
Taweel doubted any would fault him. Still, he preferred that God alone bear witness when he fussed like a flockmate. “Is it bright enough?”
Omri hummed contentedly, running tiny hands along the edges of a transparent wing. Starlight brought out hints of colors, as if through delicate prisms.
“Let me see your hair.”
The little angel turned his back and chirruped.
Taweel snorted. “You have tangles.”
With a grumble-squeak, Omri searched for the offending snarl. His ponytail slipped sideways and came undone.
“Worse and worse.”
Omri muttered.
Taweel smiled. “Sorry, friend. My fingers are too big. Shall we find Tamaes?”
