CONTEMPLATING LIFE AT THE EDGE – “DID I EVEN WANT TO PLAY THE GAME?”

Around midnight one foggy evening years ago, I tried to connect with the presence of God, as I stood on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Columbia River far below.



Clouds covered the gorge and levelled themselves so that it seemed as though I could step out and walk upon the surface. My life also lay before me like a vast journey of undulating ups-and-downs, some joys yes, but lots of heartache. Did I even want to play the game?


“Why am I here? What’s the purpose to life anyway?” I whispered...
