Book signing event

I have just come back from my first book signing, full of ideas and plans for my next event. It was in Doncaster at a weekend steampunk event.
I had never been to a steampunk event before and it was quite exciting, I met interesting people, and learn about all things steampunkie.

Traveling up to this event was a big deal for me, I only work part time, so am on a bit of a budget. I ecominised were I could and made a shirt out of curtain material, and found my display book case from outside some rubbish bins and the Leys News kindly lent me a display stand. I did make a lot of effort on the display and was delighted when The Stroud Museum kindly loaned me a large piece of Stroud Cloth, which is an important element for the story’s in my books and is very rare and valuable.

Although most people these days read e books, there is still the few hard core people who like to read from a real book and turn the pages.
Myself as a dyslexic find it easier to read from a paper book than from a generated screen. However I can see the appeal of reading e books, as you can read anywhere, on a bus in a cue. Books can be heavy, especially mine which are the weight of a brick!

When I wrote my Paradox Child, I had no idea at the time how popular it would become and how this would change my life.
However none of this would not have happened, if it had not been for the inspirational guidance of my editor Sarah Edwards.

It was Sarah who got me to go on the short community jounerlsium course paid for by brooks university, and who there after encouraged me to write for the Leys News.

So now I have finished writing the Paradox Child series. But I do not intend to stop writing. In fact I have my next two books planned in my head.

The third book Original Destination will be free to download August 14th.
