Isn't he, Maldivianbookreviewer? I admit I could stare at him all day. Or at least for a very long while. :-)

I got an email this morning from the U.S. Marshal I used as a source for this story — a woman. And she said that she's ready to rejoin the USMS now if this is the kind of man they're hiring. She's retired.
That made me laugh.
Hope all is well with you, Karen.

Actually, I have to be careful when I write in public because if it's a really touching scene (or I'm trying to MAKE it be a really touching scene), my emotions get very involved, and I cry.
There's a scene in HARD EVIDENCE between the heroine and her mom that took me completely by surprise and had be bawling in a coffee shop. Time to go home. LOL!

Ooooh, yes pl-ease...

Keri, I read "body shot," and immediately what came to my depraved mind was doing body shots off the guy in the image. You know, drinking tequila off his tummy. I thought, "What did Keri write?!?" And then I saw that's not what you wrote. My mind just went there. LOL!
I am doing my best to recover. I go back to work in two weeks, so I'd like to get some writing done between now and then. (So glad you enjoyed NAKED EDGE, by the way.)
Yes, Connor is always speaking to me. This is going to be the first fall I can't go to Rogers Island (Ranger Island). I'm hoping to go there this spring so I can write some of the book right where the rangers really lived and fought. I like the idea of using the same model, but what about that long dark hair of Connor's and those warrior braids?
Too funny, Ruth. :-)
Thank you all for your support! This has been a tough year, but your comments really bolster me and lift my spirits.

Now you got me drooling over Connor...a firm yes on the dark hair and warrior braids, like I wouldn't like that...i like it so much, thinking of asking my husband if he will let me give him the warrior makeover when I get home...lol.
I have loved all of your books, but of the contemporaries Naked Edge was special to me.

Keri, it's good to know I'm not the only one who thought that. LMAO at "shots of rootbeer." Water, even. :-)
A warrior makeover. That sounds kind of fun. If I were a guy, I'd let my wife try a few things. I'd practice my Scottish brogue for those nights when a Scots accent in bed would be just the thing.
I'm so glad to hear it (about NAKED EDGE). I think Kat was a hard heroine for some readers to relate to. The book was special to me, too, for every personal reasons, which you probably read in the author's note.

Oh....there's a badge on his belt??? I didn't notice either, weeellll I'm just gonna have to take another look!!! *big smile*

We could create a game — pin the badge on Zach's belt. Could be fun, especially when you put it in the wrong place. :-)

I want to play!!!!!!!!!!! Pick me, pick me!!!!

Plus, he's very sandy. Someone needs to brush him off.

LOVE the cover! I like how it's a little different than the others - and that guy is smoking hot!
Hope you keep feeling better!
Funny story, one of the times I was reading Surrender my husband asked me why I was speaking in a Scottish accent. Apparently I was so into the writing style, I started speaking it :)

Thank is HILARIOUS! Haha.
You know, when I'm writing a MacKinnon's Rangers book, I start talking that way too — at the newspaper. "’Tis time for a wee meetin', aye? Bring your notebooks wi' you. And dinnae be late."
My son picks it up from me, and then he does it, too. We walk around the house talking like that. LOL!
Just FYI — Sometimes I see in reviews where people say the way I've written the Scottish is "fake" or whatever. What they don't know is that I've taken the spelling and even lots of vocabulary words from auld Scottish ballads. So I spell it the way the Scots spell it.
So what you're speakin', lassie, is near enough to what they'd be sayin' back in day. :-)
I also look for fun new words in old letters or old songs — like collieshangie and conflummixt.
Anyway, that's probably more than you ever wanted to hear. :-)
Have a good night!
P.
