Thanks-- I think all the good luck wishes were what kept me from losing my shit! They put me in with the youngest gymnastics group-- and four of the 15 kids were autistic. It was… uhm… challenging… (she said with a manic laugh!)

LOL-- I don't know-- I felt like I bragged about it infinitely! Kim Fielding and I were both there -- she's the one who sort of pimped the gig ;-) Here's the link, if you want it! http://www.capradio.org/news/insight/...

Thanks, I got it! Good interview -- though I had to laugh when the interviewer said something about gay romance stories usually not progressing past kissing. LOL!
Ooh! Fun addendum to that? She wrote me an e-mail later that day. I'd given her a copy of The Locker Room, and apparently her intern was reading it and howling "This goes WAY past kissing!" at her through the door!

Of course, all those socker moms probably read Fifty Shades already....

NPR interviewers are usually better prepared. Do you or Kim even have a book that stops at kissing??
Kaje wrote: "Amy wrote: "Ooh! Fun addendum to that? She wrote me an e-mail later that day. Even my YA, The Bitter Moon saga, has sex-- but it's toned down a little.

And it's funny, I remember someone ASKING me that question before the interview, and my response was that some of the best sellers didn't (Tigers and Devils comes to mind) but that most of us wrote the same sex you'd find in het romance, just between men!

OMG--I stand corrected. I'd forgotten that-- okay, I've got ONE story, no sex. I can say that now. Thanks!
And make that two-- because "Why the Sand and Sky turn to Blood" has no on page sex as well.
Amy wrote: "And make that two-- because "Why the Sand and Sky turn to Blood" has no on page sex as well."I don't know that one.
And wow -- two clean stories?? What's wrong, Amy, ya goin' soft in yer old age?? ;-D
Oh, also -- I didn't mention it earlier -- I LOVE your hummer pick. Keep that one somewhere safe so you can look at it again. :-)

Good luck tomorrow.
