So I Was Thinking (and That's Always a Dangerous Thing)

I'd like to write some short stories and then maybe put them up for free.

I will be accepting prompts. I'll write something from one of my existing canons or something new. Whatever you like. :)

What do you guys think? Are you in?

Nenia Campbell I'll try most things once. ;)

LOL. I've never read Cujo before but I think I could do that. ;)

TL *Humaning the Best She Can* Nenia wrote: "I'll try most things once. ;)"

haha okay:) ummm...

1. BBC's Sherlock and John as Moroi/Dhampir ala Vampire Academy (with or without the bond Lissa/Rose had, it can be slash or not.. would love to see your twist on that)

2. A gothic reincarnation story ?

sorry, not good at this haha

Nenia Campbell I just wrote the Cujo cat story. I'm going to post it now!

Courtney Aw yeah, and I was mentioned... I am going to be famous now!

I've actually never seen Sherlock(!) (I know, right? I fail as an individual.)

I could try to do #2 but it would probably turn into a full-length novel and then where would we be LOL. Actually, Heather Crews wrote a really great story just like that! I reviewed it a few days ago. It's called "Unchanged."

message 14: by Courtney (new)

Courtney A full novel isn't a bad thing...

message 15: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Courtney wrote: "A full novel isn't a bad thing..."

LOL. It is when you're juggling like three of them at the same time! ;)

Um.

Okay.

Two friends with a dangerously codependent relationship as they spiral towards mutual destruction.

(Also, you realize I'm going to bombard you with prompts, right?)"

Oooh, that sounds fun!!! >:D

(Actually, that sounds a little too fun. Like full-length novel fun. MUAHAHAHAHA.)

Also, I sent you a TwS chappie. SHIT GOES DOWN. >:D

Bombard away!

message 19: by Courtney (new)

Courtney A young girl makes human sacrifices in her bathtub.

Heather ~*dread mushrooms*~ @Wart, you should. I love that idea. :)

Heather ~*dread mushrooms*~ Courtney wrote: "A young girl makes human sacrifices in her bathtub."

OMG I second that.

message 22: by Courtney (new)

Courtney 8D

message 23: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Wart wrote: "I'm gonna read it tomorrow!! After work, before my epic shawl fest...

Gonna think of more prompts at work >:)

Here's another before I hit the hay: a demon poses as a writer and writes himself in..."

I actually have a story like that! I just never finished it...

message 24: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Courtney wrote: "A young girl makes human sacrifices in her bathtub."

GURL, YOU HAVE BLOOD ON THE MIND.

(and I like it.)

message 25: by Courtney (new)

Courtney Well, looks like you have to write about bathtub sacrifices, Nenia!

Sarah (is clearing her shelves) Nenia, you and Wart decide between yourselves who's going to write about the demon posing as an author, because I definitely want to read that one. I also like Courtney's idea of bathtub sacrifices.

My own idea would be the making of the perfect girl/boyfriend through dead body parts - kind of Frankenstein with a Nenia twist to it.

Also mental institution with psychotic doctor doing horrific experiments on the patients.

I have a lot of bloody, gruesome, disturbing ideas and I'm always happy to share.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Can the bathtub be haunted and demanding said blood sacrifices? >:)

I'm still waiting for the space opera bodice ripper...

message 28: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Sure, why not? Ooh all these ideas. I am getting itchy writer fingers. ;)

SPACE OPERA BODICE RIPPER SHALL COME!

As soon as I get an idea.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Just so you know, the second you put this out, your loyal minions will grabby hands it. :)

message 30: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Hahaha! I'm trying to work on the stories I've already got listed on Goodreads first. ;)

message 31: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Skyla Happy Go Lucky and Lost in Books wrote: "I third the bathtub one. She could be like a reincarnated Elizabeth Bathroy or something."

I love Elizabeth Bathory. Well not love-love, but she's fascinating. Surprised there aren't more books about her. If I ever get around to doing historical novels, she'll be a viable candidate. >:D

P.S. Have you seen Stay Alive? It's so bad it's good. One of my favorite horror movies!

message 32: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Tim wrote: "Yes, I'm definitely in! My only idea for a prompt though is a minotaur who shifts from realm to realm and doesn't know what is reality and what is fantasy. lol"

Ooh, that sounds like something Piers Anthony would write!!

message 33: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell B-b-b-but according to Divergent, being Erudite makes me a bad person. D:

message 34: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Yay!

message 35: by Figgy (new)

Figgy Courtney wrote: "A young girl makes human sacrifices in her bathtub."

But maybe in the telling, it could seem like she's playing some morbid game with her dolls, but at the end there's the reveal that they were real people.

Sarah (is clearing her shelves) Wart wrote: "we should co-write that shit!"

I vote for that idea.

message 38: by Mairéad (is roaming the Undying Lands) (last edited Jun 20, 2014 04:13PM) (new)

Mairéad (is roaming the Undying Lands) Oh great, now I want to join in on this (as a writer of course) lmao. xD

Also, LOOOOOOVE the demon posing as a writer one darn, id love to write that but i forgive you rofl. <3

Either way, here's a prompt that just popped into my head i might steal it back however, youve been warned:

Blood Money Curse (do what you wish with it, it can be anything)

OR

A narrator guiding the reader through their experience and madness until it's realized that it's an actual virus for a plague about to unleash upon the globe?

OR

A twisted version of a fairytale, Nenia-styled, of course~

my brain is tired, hence these random prompts--thought of others but as i wrote them out i got like book blurbs for possible future stories lmao...

message 39: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Sorry, the Hiddles/Wart thing can't happen because I'm writing a Nenia/Hiddles fic and that might be a conflict of interests. Would you settle for a Wart/Cumberpatch fic? >:D

Also, THOSE PROMPTS OMG. <3 <3 <3

Only problem is I'd probably end up turning them into novels.

BUT THAT'S OKAY RITE?!

I just need to finish working on what I have first...agh.

message 40: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell LOL. I have such a huge backlist and I feel bad for not writing the stories people have been waiting forever for. (Like Black Beast was up for two and a half years almost before I published it.)

message 41: by Figgy (new)

Figgy Nenia, sorry to go off track, but I just noticed you have 666 fans!

Mairéad (is roaming the Undying Lands) The funny thing, I forgot to add, is that demon author idea sounds like it belongs in the world of the series I'm working on. o:

And LOL. The comments. XD

message 43: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Figgy wrote: "Nenia, sorry to go off track, but I just noticed you have 666 fans!"

Yeah, someone told me that yesterday!! I was like, OMGGG YEAR OF THE BEASTTT. :O

message 44: by Nenia (last edited Jun 20, 2014 06:28PM) (new)

Nenia Campbell @Wart: LOL. GRRM makes me side-eye him. Sometimes he's really funny, and sometimes I'm like, "Who the fcuk does this guy thing he is?" >_>

ETA: I'm glad you think I work hard, tho! I try my best. :D

message 45: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell Skyla Happy Go Lucky and Lost in Books wrote: "Figgy wrote: "Nenia, sorry to go off track, but I just noticed you have 666 fans!"

She had 668 yesterday when I checked."

Maybe two people unliked me! LOL. :D

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Nenia: do you think it would work if an idea was picked and then either each person took a take on it OR wrote a chapter to make a whole? I dunno, just a thought. :)

message 47: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell I think the first would be really cool! I think it's neat to see how different people have different takes on the same idea. Also, I'm not much for group work. lol ;)

message 48: by Corana (new)

Corana Please I'm begging for #2 in blood bonds. Bleeds my Desire was just out of this world AWESOME!!!!

message 49: by Nenia (new)

Nenia Campbell @Wart: Oooh, those sound AWESOME!

@Corana: Court the Night is #3 in my to-do list. I'll try to have it up within the year. I'm so glad you liked it. :D
