I think it was Scalzi who said that not all men are menaces, but all women have been menaced by men. We have a responsibility as decent people to teach our sons that harassing and menacing women is never okay. We have a responsibility as decent people to hold our friends and families and, yes, strangers, accountable when they harass or menace women.

menacing women is never okay? what if that women is a psycho killer. I'd encourage a good menacing. This argument is silly. I'm sure there are women who haven't been menaced with. Don't come after to me either i'm one of the nice guys. Just chill out with this feminism shit. Just encourage decency and all will be well.
You know women... just out on hot, summer day, walking around psycho-killing folks. Speaking of silly arguments... If you have to tell people that you're a nice guy, there is a 12% chance (full disclosure: immeasurable statistic)that you ARE in fact a nice guy.Women are assaulted on public transportation, walking to the coffee shop, and while working. When you understand how exhausting that is, we'll have another conversation about this.
Sorry I posted I realize it's just going to create more conflict my only problem with feminism is that it seems to be pro-women when we should really be pro-human.
"Feminism" is different for everyone. Some men use the term to define themselves, and others are uncomfortable with the connotation. The 3rd/4th wave of feminism holds a humanist ideology. Listen, you go through life not objectifying women and are a respectable human being who openly criticizes abject behaviour by cat-callers/abusers, then you're aces. I will call you a humanist (but will secretly think "he's a swell feminist" ;) ).
