Unfortunately, what you are seeing is the success of the Obama Administration's immigration policies. The strategy we are witnessing was formally presented in an article in "The Nation" by Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven way back in 1966. Their object, at that time, was to overwhelm state welfare systems across the nation causing them to collapse and thereby creating a crisis that would force a national solution to poverty and strengthen the Democratic Party. The Cloward/Piven strategy is to overwhelm a system and bring about its collapse. This creates a crisis, which demands a quick solution. The solution is a system that was prepared before the crisis and is ready to quickly put in place with little analysis or push back; there is no time for that in a crisis. As a Progressive, Obama would be familiar with Cloward Piven. He surly knew his version of the Dream act would overwhelm the system with what we are now seeing on the border. If the Congress doesn't solve the problem post haste, (Harry Reid will never let that happen except through open border Comprehensive Immigration Reform - including amnesty) the system will collapse and we will be in crisis. That will give Obama his excuse to take Executive action with his "pen and phone" to resolve this crisis (that he caused) with a version of Comprehensive Immigration Reform, which was prepared before the crisis. We have got to do it NOW ... for the children. We are in the endgame already, and I haven’t seen any conservative commentators or politicians commenting about this strategy. Getting his policy is Obama's definition of success – the trauma the children are going through, (being sent from Central America to the USA in the care of coyotes and then abandoned to be picked up by border authorities) or the cost to the country are not even side issues for Obama. Obama's plan is mutually beneficial - The immigrants get US Government Assistance, and the Democrats get future voters.

Unfortunately that is absolutely true. And Congress does seem oblivious to it.It may seem cruel, but these kids should be sent back. My brother tells me that they are roaming in bands accosting people for change in parking lots. They have no skills, no work visas, no education, etc etc. This is a horrible situation for everyone concerned. The only solution is to send them back to their home countries...immediately.
Your solution is best for America, but liberal commentator, Kirsten Powers, in her most arrogant voice and face schooled Bill O’Reilly on the other solution just yesterday. Paraphrasing – “This magnificent country has the money to support the current 50,000 children and their mothers, and if there are 100,000 or several hundred thousand more, we have enough money for them too. That is the only Christian response to their needs.” That is the progressive solution to the problem you describe, and they do it by throwing their version of Christianity in our face. All the progressives have to do is wait it out until the crisis is big enough to inflame the population to the point that they demand Obama to ignore the cold-hearted conservatives and implement a program to help the children. This may not occur until there are significant numbers dying (possibly from diseases they bring with them). And if it comes to that, don’t think for a minute the progressives will feel a twinge of guilt over what they will have wrought. The border control can’t send them back; Obama won’t let it. Congress can’t send them back; Harry Reid won’t let it. Arizona and Texas won’t send them back; they have no authority. You can’t send them back – I can’t send them back. This immigration battle is already out of reach. (Hope I’m wrong about that) It seems that the Liberals, so often, are a step ahead of us. What we need to focus on is to get rid of Reid. Then somehow, Justice Roberts has to get a backbone. Finally, we have to find a Republican that can beat Hillary. But to start with, if Harry survives the next election as Senate Majority Leader, Obama will have a free hand for two and a half more years. With that time, I don’t think America gets out of the fundamental change Obama predicted five days before his election. Of course, an honest, well-informed press telling the truth could inflame the populace in another direction. The people could slam the breaks on this runaway mess real fast.
I agree with you 100%. Kirsten Powers is a nitwit who pushes leftist ideology through Christianity. The good news is that a lot of Americans are fed up. We saw that with the David Brat/Eric Cantor election. If we can get the Senate and get some solid conservatives in the House we can still impact the outcome. So 2014 is our chance--maybe our last chance.
