Easy-peasy, right? It was a tough choice between page 7 or 77, but here are seven lines from page 7 of Daxen’s story, Beautifully Burned, the sequel to Wonderfully Wicked. Plus some Daxen eye-candy to get you started:
An inhuman snarl rose from Lydon, and the hairs on Daxen’s arms jerked to full attention. “Let the other dreamcaster die.”
Kalila’s smile deflated. “Don’t be mean. I’m going.”
“You’re not. I’ll chain you up if I must.”
“Don’t make me use our bond, Black.”
“Fine.” Lydon’s hands trembled, belying the silk of his voice. “I’ll hire someone to do it for me.”
