Smashwords, the seller and distributor of ebooks I use to all...

Smashwords, the seller and distributor of ebooks I use to all sites except Google Play and Amazon, now has real-time sales reporting. (See the pretty graphys!)

I sell about 20 books a day on all of Amazon’s sites, and only about 5 a day on ALL of the other sites. But something i’m seeing here, is that in the last 30 days, my sales have remained relatively consistent on the other sites while at Amazon my rank has been trending downward.

There are a lot of people who only sell on Amazon because, frankly, distributing to all of the other sites is a pain in the tuckus. But if my books are “stickier” on other sites; it may be worth the effort in the long, long haul (but not worth distributing to all those sites individually at this time).

Interestingly, my sales at Smashwords and it’s affiliates, are about where I was a year ago at Amazon. I wonder if a year from now, I’ll be where I am with Amazon today? (And will my revenue on Amazon continue to grow exponentially? If they do… whoa… I have a ten year plan to ditch the day job, but I may make it in less time.)
