‘Fess Up

Book question time…

What was the first book that made you cry?

Me? I remember having a reaction (even as a young kid) to the GIVING TREE (by Shel Silverstein). As an adult, I’ve gotten misty-eyed over a few novels–most recently, HER LAST BREATH (by Linda Castillo), and out-and-out cried reading YOU ARE SPECIAL (by Max Lucado) to my kids when they were younger.

Your turn.

Connie I remember crying for I Love You Forever and giving it to a cousin for her new baby shower. No one else had really heard it, so they made me read it out loud and all my Aunts and cousins were crying at the end also!

I cry over Christmas Stories each year. And pretty much anything that touches my heart. The Grace Chapel Inn, series. Even some mysteries have made me cry, when the main character gets thier own heart hurt, or family issues. So I guess I am just pretty much mushy, but I love to laugh. Your Amish mysteries are very touching at times and would bring tears to my eyes, the same with our Southern Sewing Circle ladies. Brilliant writing to make a reader laugh and cry and be surprised!

Elizabeth Lynn Casey Thanks, Connie. I don't think I've ever read I Love You Forever. I read so many touching things to my kids, but this one escaped me. Must track it down.
