Did you miss the interview #BlerdChat had with Ytasha Womack, author of Afrofuturism: The World of Black Sci Fi and Fantasy Culture and Rayla 2212?  Recently, #BlerdChat spoke with the author about her work in the genre of Afrofuturism. Womack said that, “Afrofuturism differs from  traditional SF in that it has a black cultural lens and has a unique perspective on time.”  Rayla Illmatic, the heroine of the Rayla 2212 series was also interviewed and explained the story behind Planet Hope. “Planet Hope began as Earth’s greatest space colony. It was an experiment in creating utopia,” said Illmatic.
