What If Hachette (Big Time Publisher) Gave A War and Nobody Came or Even Gave A Damn So, let me praise my fellow writers here in this community for not given a rat’s ass about this alleged "war" between Amazon and Hachette.
We know the future of ideas can not be drowned by the big and powerful, but faint of heart. Self-publishing is neither extremist nor restraining. Self-publishing is alive and doing what it is supposed to do, democratizing publishing. The risks are an inescapable part of self-publishing just as they are for traditional publishing and for all consumers who are vetting the street before they cross it.
The readers vetting and decision making process might be deeply flawed, but every writer can submit a manuscript. Despite the nominal risk, democratization of publishing produces a similar democratization for the reader by making literary culture more open.
Anyone agree or disagree?
