Christopher An excellent list. Have you tried the ardbeg specials like coryvrekkan and ughadail? They are fantastic.

My personal favorite staple in Laphroaig Quarter Cask.

Finishing up four years in Scotland myself and have been to most of these distilleries in person, lol.

Sam That Quarter Cask is amazing. I brought a bottle to HPLFF in Portland this year, pretty sure I toasted you (Laird) at some point. Good times!

Chris, do you have any knowledge about Finlaggan? Rumor has it that it is actually under-aged Lagavulin sold at a discount. It is indeed pretty cheap, but also underwhelming when compared to its Islay brethren.

I dont know much about it but I have tired it and agree totally with your assessment. If I am going for something which is not Islay Talisker is usually my numero uno. I have also come to like Scapa even though the flavor is totally different, but this is probably biased from the fact that I had a great 9 days on Orkney 2 years ago. It is seriously the coolest place ever. Neolithic ruins, viking invasion history, and WWI naval history all rolled into one stark windswept half Scottish half Norwegian group of islands.
