Yay! Closer than Brothers is here!

My newest book, Closer than Brothers, was released by MLR press on Friday.  Words can’t express how excited I am.  This is my second professionally published work, and if anything it seems even more momentous than the first.

One is a big milestone, but two starts to seem like a career.  I suspect it won’t start paying like a career until I’m closer to book twenty, but we’ll see how it goes.  You never know, but I’m planning for there to be a book twenty.  I am in this for the long haul.

Getting back to my new book, it does signify a bunch of firsts for me.  It’s my first “GFY”–gay for you, for those not in the know.  It’s also much lighter than most of my work, has younger characters, and is not religious at all.  It was a lot of fun to write, and I’m hoping to revisit my guys, Drew and Jeff, sometime in the next year or two.71TBETuZTsL._SL1425_

Aren’t they adorable?  It’s such a cute cover, and great for the summer.

For those looking for it, you can find Closer Than Brothers on Amazon and at many other fine e-tailers.

Julio Genao congratulations, d.c. :)

message 2: by D.C. (new)

D.C. Thanks! Now if I'd only stop being lazy and noodling around on the internet and write more, I'd be a little father along in the game. Disney-related websites are evil. They are conspiring to ensure that I will never finish the next Foxgrove, let alone my revision.

message 3: by Julio (new)

Julio Genao some writers I know can focus on their work without canceling their internet subscription

...I am so jelez

message 4: by D.C. (new)

D.C. Or become distracted by visions of Dole Whip and flying elephants, although I think that's my personal vice.

Julio Genao not a peep out of me.

*discreetly closes porno browser tabs*

Hhrrrmph! That just suddenly put the thought into my head to google "Disney Porn" which is just so wrong on so many levels my head spins.

Julio Genao so, so wrong

*new tab*

message 8: by D.C. (new)

D.C. I didn't see that.

Mir Disney porn was around when I was in high school; where you guys been?

I would say "leading a blameless life" but clearly I don't get out much. In my defense, there was no internet when I was in school. Floppy disks, and I mean the big ones that were actually floppy, were a new thing.

message 11: by Mir (new)

Mir Internet was sort of around when I was in school but none of us had it. People passed around porn (paper) at school. Not me personally, but I was seated next to someone who had a Disney-princess Gang-bang collection.

message 12: by D.C. (new)

D.C. That would never have occurred to us. It was the eighties; we were geeks. D&D was more our speed. I

Julio Genao I spent college pretending to type papers while sekritly printing historical gay incest fics off www.nifty.org

message 14: by D.C. (new)

D.C. Once again, no idea such a thing existed. Obviously, I missed out. I didn't even know there was slash until the late nineties.

message 15: by Julio (new)

Julio Genao I didn't know about slash until the mid oughts. an aunt wrote starsky and hutch MM for her friends. I would go in to B&N and buy smutty historicals until then.

message 16: by D.C. (new)

D.C. I had a semi-girlfriend who wrote Highlander slash. Until then I was innocent of such a thing. I was debating the ethics of French kissing in tenth grade. I think my raunchiest high school moment was when my best friend tried to sell me at the local Renaissance Fair.

Starsky and Hutch?!!!
