Hey, hope you're doing good :) Found this after doing an Indiana Jones Tumblr search. I see you're a big Indy fan, I am too, love that series! Saw on your Twitter that you feel Last Crusade is the weakest, I must agree. I love them all but I'm in the minor
That is exactly how I would rank the Indy series: Temple, Raiders, Kingdom, and then Crusade.
It’s polarizing to say that Crusade is the weakest, especially since so many people remember it with such nostalgia. I think that, for many fans, Last Crusade was a lighthearted adventure romp with laughs and father-son moments that stood out after the dark, violent thriller of Temple of Doom. I think a lot of people responded to it, like “Hey, look! Indiana Jones is back and not really crazy dark!” and in that they didn’t really look at how comical and silly Crusade was, especially when all that comedy was sandwiched inbetween really tight, really memorable action sequences. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull continued on that trend of silliness, but into more of an extreme, which is why I think people dislike it. I understand it’s a flawed film, and it is by no means near the quality of Raiders or Temple, but Kingdom is a much more entertaining and interesting film because of those flaws, and because of how high-velocity it is, and because it tries something new and different and isn’t attempting to be Raiders 2. Still, that said, I’ll sit down and watch Last Crusade and enjoy it for what it is. I’m just a sucker for Indiana Jones.
