For the B&N edition, should we NOT read the Darkling prequel before reading Ruin & Rising? (I planned on parking my butt outside B&N on June 17th with a latte in one hand and your book in the other and reading at least the Darkling part before leaving the

Okay, here’s the deal: I wrote the Darkling prequel so that NOTHING in Ruin and Rising would be spoiled by reading it first. (I’m tricksy like that.)

I highly recommend waiting until AFTER you finish Ruin to read the Darkling prequel. That’s definitely the way I intended it, and I think the story is much more powerful that way.

In other news… I’m sorry I’ve been a little absent from tumblr lately. I have something new (yup yup) due just days before R&R comes out, so I’ve been trying to stay offline and keep my beak to the grindstone. But I read every ask and email and tweet that comes my way and I’ll do my best to get back to replies soon!
