Published… now what?

Now that I’m a published novelist, the most frequent question I’ve been asked is, “How many copies have you sold?”.

My answer to this is, “It’s not important… yet.”

Only an opportunist expects instant success. The more important question is, “What are you planning to do?”

If you set yourself a single goal, with an unrealistic expectation, you are going to be disappointed. If you already have the next goal in mind, well then you’re getting somewhere. So what’s the plan?
