One apt criticism of the heropath, or hero's journey, approach to mythology is that the structure (Call to Adventure, Refusal of the Call, Supernatural Aid, Crossing the First Threshold, etc.) does not fit all hero-oriented myths. Readers of Joseph Campbell's
