Arrest Wrong Conclusions

Gen 42:38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave..

Sincerity can still be very alien to truth. Jacob voices the feelings that are not backed up with reality. He is ignorant and so confused. Our dreams are not dead neither are we left alone. None reading this devotional will go to the grave with sorrow.

Mat 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Giving away your son is a fearful proposition. Who can pass such a test? But whatever we give away that is ours will come back to us … as all are safe in the hands of the keeper of Israel. We must not cling to blessings as though we were the sources of them. The one that gives may want to borrow them for a while from us. Jacob had no cause to grieve … both his two sons were safe.

It is vain for saints to grieve for losses – even before they have manifested. Our projections are negative. My question is that where is your faith. The Bible says the just shall live by faith. Our faith must be tried and found to be true so we can build on it and not on our perceptions. If circumstances have imposed certain challenges that seem to have scattered your home … I encourage you to trust God, you will be reunited with your sons and daughters again. The plan of God is a good plan … the end He is working out is a good end. Jacob is at his lowest but does the Bible not say – even from the dunghill He raises up. God has not forgotten you. Release what you must and look up to God. Soon the beautiful plans of the most High will be revealed and you will only marvel at His benevolence and most kind hand coated in bitter pills.

Song.

Be not dismayed whate’er betide, God will take care of you!

Beneath His wings of love abide, God will take care of you!

God will take care of you, Through every day o’er all the way;

He will take care of you; God will take care of you!

Through days of toil when heart doth fail, God will take care of you!

When dangers fierce your path assail, God will take care of you!

All you may need He will provide, God will take care of you!

Trust Him, and you will be satisfied, God will take care of you!

Lonely and sad, from friends apart, God will take care of you!

He will give peace to your aching heart, God will take care of you!

Prayer: O Lord, I place my life in your hands. Take care of me. Amen
