A ring at the doorbell

I miss having a dog when the doorbell rings. No sharp claws digging into my feet. No loud barks ensuring that no one can speak. No warm furry creature demanding, if I open the box, I must surely give treats. But this box had a treat inside for me. My first print copy of Hero's Best Friend. It's big. It's beautiful. And I can't wait to curl up and read it.

I miss having a dog when there's no one to curl up beside me while I read.
