Stand and Deliver!

Last night I was watching my DVD of The Lady and the Highwayman and I was prompted to wonder… No, not what is the enduring appeal of the outlaw hero, which I blogged about at Word Wenches last year, but why the portrayals of highwaymen on film or TV are so disappointing. Is it me or can't you get a good highwayman for love or money?

 I like the Lady and the Highwayman. It's on the edge of being camp without quite toppling over. I could do with seeing a lot more of "the dashing silver blade"...
