I make myself race goals about a week before every race I do. I try to make what seem reasonable goals, based on my training and my knowledge of the course (if I have any). But I have not reached a single goal this year. Not one. For most of the races, about 2-3 hours in length, I have been about 5 minutes off of my goals.
