Chicagoans! Don’t waste any time (less time doth waste you) as there will be a free screening of Richard II in Chicago on Saturday, May 3 in the Ferguson Lecture Hall, Columbia College in Chicago, IL from 1:00pm – 4:30pm.
Just over a week since William Shakespeare blew all 450 candles out upon his ghost cake, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Richard II, featuring the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant as the titular dick, will be presented by Ultimate-TV in conjunction with DT Forum.
On the role of King Richard, the monarch, ordained by God to lead his people, suffering from some very human weakness of pride and vanity, Tennant added at the time of his casting:
He’s not a hero at all. He’s quite a complicated character. So I’m daunted by the prospect of doing it justice but very excited to get a chance.
In addition to the free presentation there will also be the chance to win a David Tennant Celebration Gift Pack, which includes a Richard II poster and a DVD of Richard II courtesy of FYE.
Richard II, the fastest selling show in the RSC’s history, was filmed live at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon on 13th November 2013; the movie theatre rollout that followed proved to be a major success at the box office.
The screening was also streamed into schools around the UK, broadcast live across several countries and was viewed in hundreds of cinemas around the world in the months of November and December 2013.
To reserve a pair of tickets for the RSC cinematic production of Richard II starring David Tennant, complete the registration form over at Eventbrite.
