Do You Take Long in CHanging Rooms?
Ever since I was young, whenever I went shopping and had to try on clothes I would, according to other people that is, take forever in changing rooms and was always asked angrily after I emerge out “What took you so long?”
I’m not sure if I do take too long or if I’m simply surrounded by impatient people but I’ve always hated changing rooms. I prefer to shop blindly without trying things on and quickly if I may add. I can tell by the shape of a certain garment whether or not it will fit and I am almost always right, but not always. I hate shopping for pants in particular because no matter how they look they will be absolutely different when you try them on and frankly, I never ever looked at my reflection in a changing rooms mirror and liked what I saw.
I also am myself impatient. I do not go on “Shopping sprees” with girlfriends. I do not do “wait forever for someone to try something on” and I cannot stand lingering around a store that I’m not interested in just because someone I’m shopping with is looking around. When it comes to shopping, I like to do my own thing which is go on my own, wander the stores I like at my own pace, run out from stores I don’t like in a blink, and if I had to, if I had to, if I absolutely had to, take my sweet time trying out a garment in the changing room. I don’t take anybody’s opinion on what I buy, I buy what I think I like and I know what I like by a single sweep of a row of clothing and couldn’t care less what others thought of my purchases. Which is probably why I have several different denim jackets too many.
That being said, I still do not understand why I’m always accused of hogging the changing rooms for unreasonable durations of time. Perhaps because I have to put every garment I try on in the exact condition it was when I picked it from the shelves? I have to put them back on their hangers, button them all up, and I always take the garments out with me and hand them to the attending sales person, saying whether they were good or not. I do not throw the clothing on the floor and stamps over them on my way out just because someone else would be picking those pieces off the ground so if that’s why I take so long to you, you may very well excuse me for I pick up after myself.
Are you accused of taking too long in changing rooms? Or do you have a certain routine which makes it possible to whizz through changing rooms? I’m team too long for sure!
