It is Finished

"Only hours before Jesus knelt in the garden praying to His Father, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." - Matthew 26: 39 Moments later He cried out to the Father that if the only way this "cup" could pass from Him would be by drinking it, then let the Father's will be done.

They led Jesus away from Pilate toward Golgotha and laid the beams down on the ground. But before they nailed Him to the cross, they handed Him another cup. A cup of vinegar, also known as "sour wine". This was a concoction to deaden the senses and lessen the excruciating pain of the flesh being pierced through by giant, iron nails that would hold His beaten body to the cross. But He refused the vinegar."
