In A Darkened Room

20140425-115712.jpg

Left alone

Her soul as dark

As the room

She knelt in

All their plans

Scattered to the wind

Their memories

Tainted by his final words

Surrounded by

The detritus of their love

Rose petals she had

Preserved with love

Crumbled around her

Turned to dust

His letters shredded and discarded

Just like her heart

Broken and humiliated

By words spoken

Destroyed and damaged

By lips that had once loved

Tears falling

Silently as she knelt

In that darkened

Room

Her madness

Consuming her soul

Madness caused

By his hatred

Alone

Rocking slowly

Her mumbled words

Betraying her pain

Just her thoughts

Keeping her company

There

In a darkened room.
