In an engaging and enlightening conversation, they discussed Holloway's book and also shared their own experiences and stories.

In Jim Crow Wisdom: Memory & Identity in Black America since 1940, Yale University historian Jonathan Scott Holloway weaves intimate personal and family memories into his analysis of broad social, cultural, and political phenomena, bringing readers along with him to explore race memory from the beginning of the modern civil rights era to the present.
The event was sponsored by Duke University's Forum for Scholars and Publics and the Durham County Library.
