Empty: What It Really Means

Empty pockets.

Empty gas tank.

Empty hearts.

Empty life.

The word ‘empty’ normally carries a negative connotation, doesn’t it? It implies that we’re somehow lacking.

How fitting that in God’s topsy-turvy kingdom where the first are last and the humble are brought to honor, the word isn’t negative, but full of life and promise.

As you scroll through the following photos, don’t let the emptiness get you down. Instead, keep moving ahead. The ending is one you don’t want to miss.

(I apologize in advance for those of you who have seen a similar presentation of mine when I had the blog, WordVessel. It’s kind of become a tradition with me…)

EMPTY TOMB!

The message of Easter isn’t about bunnies and candied eggs or even a new outfit and going to church for the first time all year. It is simply this: Because of what Christ did on the cross and what God accomplished at His resurrection, those of us who choose to believe in Him have hope of eternal life. For those who follow Him in faith, eternal life is not a some-day-in-the-future event, but an already-here-now happening. Thank You, God, for the life-giving hope Your Easter story brings!

Oh, and by the way, as you stroll through this earthly life, don’t let the emptiness get you down. Instead, keep moving ahead. The ending is one you don’t want to miss.

Make Easter real in your hearts every day!
