This present work, entitled The Lifting of the Sun is about the Japanese war in China and Malaya. Very difficult subject. So I have invented a young soldier from Otaru, Hokkaido who is called up into the Kwangtung Army and is sent to Shanghai. By doing this, I will insert the viewpoint of the invaders. I think that will stretch and expand the storyline.
