While I’m certainly no apologist when it comes to Starbucks, anyone who works there knows already that Sbux base wages are better than minimum wage. In fact, Schultz’s comment on the $15 minimum wage in Seattle was concern for smaller, independent businesses who might not be able to afford that high a wage. Furthermore, he stated up front that larger businesses — like Starbucks — wouldn’t have an issue with paying employees that base wage, only the smaller businesses that don’t bring in as much money as larger corporations.
